400mm Quartz Saw Blade

Introduction to Quartz Saw Blade

Quartz saw blades contain a very high diamond concentration with a soft bond similar to glass and marble blades. Quartz is well-suited for mitering and typically achieves smooth edges with minimal chipping, allowing fabricators to miter faster than with some other materials.

Requirements for Using Quartz Saw Blade

1. Before using the quartz saw blade, check whether it is damaged or not . If it is damaged, it is strictly prohibited to use. All the cutting machines must be equipped with a protective cover.
2. Fasten and install the quartz saw blade due to the direction of rotation indicated. Do not cutting curved lines, strong cutting, and overheating cutting.
3. The operator must wear protective glasses, protective masks, work clothes, protective shoes and other labor protection supplies.
4. The corresponding saw blade should be selected according to the performance of the stone.
5. Use cooling water when cutting. There are no special requirements for water quality. The key water supply must be guaranteed, otherwise it will greatly affect the life and sharpness of the saw blade.
6. The quartz saw blade becomes dull during the cutting process. Please grind and sharpen the blade on the silicon carbide grinding wheel or refractory brick.

Usage of Quartz Saw Blade

Quartz saw blades don't cut, they grind! The exposed diamond crystals do the grinding work. The metal matrix or bond holds the diamonds in place. Trailing behind each exposed diamond is a "bond tail" which helps to support the diamond. As the blade rotates through the material the exposed surface of the diamonds grind the material being cut into a fine powder.

After several thousand passes through the material being cut, the exposed diamonds begin to crack and fracture. The matrix holding the diamond also begins to wear away. Eventually the diamond completely breaks up and its fragments are swept away with the material that it is grinding.

As the diamond wears and fractures, controlled erosion of the metal bond containing the diamond exposes new sharp diamond points. This cycle of erosion and exposure continues until all of the diamond and metal bond section of the segment is gone. Once the cutting section is consumed the blade will no longer grind letting the operator know it is time for a new blade.

FAQ

Q: What is the use of quartz saw blade?

A: There are many types of quartz saw blade, and they have many uses, including cutting stone, concrete, asphalt, bricks, coal balls, glass, and ceramics in the construction industry; cutting semiconductor materials in the semiconductor industry; and cutting gemstones, including diamonds, in the gem industry.

Q: What are the characteristics of a quartz saw blade?

A: Diamond concentration: Quartz blades have a high concentration of diamonds .
Bond: Quartz blades have a soft bond similar to glass and marble blades .
Cutting: Quartz saw blades are designed to cut quartz without chipping .

Q: What is the hardness of a quartz saw blade?

A: Quartz saw blades are heat treated and hardened to 64/65 HRC for ferrous cutting applications and 58/60 HRC for non-ferrous cutting applications. This high hardness gives the cutting edges of the teeth a high resistance to heat and wear.

Q: What precautions are needed when using quartz saw blade?

A: Safety is paramount when working with quartz saw blades. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and dust masks. Follow the manufacturer's guidelines and safety recommendations for your specific blade.

Q: Can I cut quartz myself using a quartz saw blade?

A: Yes, you can cut the quartz all by yourself but it is dangerous and we suggest that you'd better not do it. Due to the Mohs hardness of quartz stone can be reach up to 7, it is a difficult problem for stone processing such as opening the holes and cutting them. The overall process is not difficult, just put the right angle, and then start the cutting machine.

Q: How to use a quartz saw blade?

A: The first step in using a quartz saw blade is to prepare the area where you will be cutting. This means putting on protective eye, ear, and breathing gear. You should also secure the area so that kids or pets cannot wander in and get hurt. Additionally, you should wear solid clothing that isn't easily tangled or stuck in the saw. The next step is to mark the line you will be cutting on the slab. This will help you maintain accuracy throughout the process and ensure that the saw doesn't get off course. Once you have marked the line, securely clamp the quartz slab to prevent movement during the cutting process.

Q: How to choose quartz saw blade?

A: Selecting the right quartz saw blade for cutting stone is crucial for achieving precise and efficient results. Consider factors like blade type, material, grit size, wet vs. dry cutting, diameter, and speed ratings to make an informed choice.
